Dendrites in Limestone Necklace

The first time I saw this material, I was in love! Although it looks like fossilized plant material, it is actually caused by water rich in manganese and iron flowing along tiny cracks between layers of limestone. This limestone can only be found in Solenhafen, Germany. It is 160 million years old. I purchased several pieces of this material from Gary Wilson while I was in Santa Fe, NM earlier in 2015. I have added sterling silver 7-strand neck wire which is 16″ long.

All metal work is by me. The stone is one-of-a-kind.
